Kings Heath, Birmingham
Consultancy Opportunity
All Saints Community Development Company (ASCDC) is looking to appoint a suitably experienced consultant to advise and support the Board to improve the organisation’s management and operational systems. The consultant will review the operation of ASCDC with the directors and then set up and run systems to meet identified needs, in order to get the organisation to a point where it is able to employ staff to maintain them.
Background
All Saints Kings Heath Parish Church has reached an exciting milestone in its ambitious community development project for the people of Kings Heath, Birmingham. Through the establishment of All Saints Community Development Company (ASCDC) a high quality multipurpose community building has been built in three development phases. Various facilities within the development have now been let to a range of tenants all providing services to the local community and the church grounds are currently being landscaped to form an attractive Village Square. The point has now been reached where it is necessary to appoint staff to manage and coordinate what has been completed and manage the final development phases.
The consultant will be contracted to ASCDC but there are three separate entities involved with this initiative. All Saints parish church nurtured the original vision and continues to do so as a part of its ministry within the parish, ASCDC as a charitable company manages the property, and All Saints Centre (ASC) another charitable company, has been established to deal with the community support and development aspects of the vision.
ASCDC are responsible for the overall development process, project build, funding commitments with partners and investors and overall development of the newly built community centre. We are, and will continue to be, responsible for the various legal responsibilities and contractual commitments entered into regarding the overall development and the lease agreements and licences entered into with tenants. To do this effectively we urgently need to review and implement management and operation systems commensurate with the size and complexity that our organisation has now become.
The successful candidate will be suitably experienced, mentally agile, adaptable, and expert at problem solving. Because of this we require a person with degree level qualification. Excellent communication skills, numerate with regard to financial accounting, have a working knowledge of legal requirements, and at ease with the rigours of preparing and presenting accessible reports and hands on operational management. They will understand and be able to work within the ethos of the organisation, be trustworthy and discreet, accountable and prudent, and keen to play a crucial role in shaping the future of this significant project.
Application by 5pm on 30th June 2011.
Interviews will be held on 25th July 2011.
