Join us for an afternoon symposium which looks at the explosion of festival culture in the UK and how faith related perspectives impact.

International and UK based keynotes will offer inspiration, information and key networking opportunities for faith, community and mainstream programmers, and those responsible for marketing, fundraising and partnership development.

Come and learn how you might grow your own festival or local cultural celebration or work more closely with the event organisers to help grow its impact and reach.

Funding sources with closing dates in April 2011:

Below is a brief description of each fund for quick reference.

  • BBC Children in Need -Grants are open to organisations working with disadvantaged children and young people who are 18 years old and under.
  • Rosies Helping Hands - children and young people up to the age of 25 years.
  • O2 Its Your Community – young people reconnect with their communities
  • The George Fentham Birmingham Charity – The charity supports individuals and organisations in the City of Birmingham for relief in need purposes, educational grants are given to support people aged 16 – 25 who have lived in the city for at least three years
  • The Dumbreck Charity – Supports work in general charitable purposes, however previous grants are broken down into the following areas: Animal Welfare/Conservation, Children’s Welfare, Care of people who are elderly or have physical/mental disabilities, medical
  • Triangle Trust 1949 Fund – Current areas of interest are: carers, community arts and education, disability, older people,  poverty, integration and rehabilitation
  • Concertina Charitable Trust – charitable bodies which provide musical entertainment and related activities for the elderly.
  • Woodroofe Benton Foundation – care for the sick and elderly, conserve and improve the environment, promote education and help those in need as a result of disaster or by reason of social and economic circumstances
  • Mercers Charitable Foundation- Heritage and small arts – Areas funded under this stream include: building conversation, library and archive preservation, environmental conservation
  • The Grocers Charity – Aid is available to organisations concerned with education, relief of poverty, disability, the arts, heritage, the church, and the elderly and will support both capital and revenue funding.
  • SITA Trust Enhancing Communities Fast Track Fund – community improvement project that has an overall cost of no more than £20,000.
