MAKING THE MARKETING FIELD WORK FOR THE UNEMPLOYED YOUTH

PLAYWRIGHT MEDIA DELIVER PROJECT TO YOUNG PEOPLE IN BIRMINGHAM PREPARING THEM FOR WORK IN THE WAKE OF RISING YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT FIGURES.

Following reports of rising youth unemployment figures Birmingham based company Playwright Media CIC announced it will deliver two nine week pre-employment programmes aimed at increasing and promoting the soft skills of unemployed young people aged 18-23.

Starting in mid-June, the Development Through Marketing Programme (DTM) will run twice a week with the aim of enhancing the confidence, communication and self-promotional skills of young people who have been long term unemployed and/or not in any form of education or training.

DTM uses some of the basic elements of marketing to create a playing field to teach participants how best to showcase
their skills. In doing so, sessions and activities encourage the young person to look at themselves as the Marketer, target
audience and most importantly the product in order to set goals and targets.
