The Department for the Education has announced that Impetus and The Sutton Trust have together been chosen to manage a £125 million Education Endowment Fund, created to help disadvantaged children in the poorest performing schools in the UK.
Together they will be responsible for ensuring the allocation of grants to groups with bold and innovative proposals on how to improve the attainment of disadvantaged pupils in the underperforming schools. For more information you can visit here
A fantastic new resource for young people has recently been launched: http://www.filter.me.uk/
Filter.me.uk is an online portal that allows young people, up to the age of 24, and their families, to find out whats happening across Birmingham’s cultural sector.
Filter.me.uk is currently being promoted across the city; through roadshows, leisure, community and arts venues, on billboards and even buses. A promotional postcard will also be distributed to school children across Birmingham.
If you are an organisation who offers cultural activites for children and young people, the we need your help to make it the best it can be by ensuring your events and activities are loaded onto Filter. You can register on the site as an ‘event organiser’ – it is recommended that each organisation registers once with one username and password; the username being the name of the organisation seeking to upload events and activities.
