New Youth Work Qualifications

Award, Certificate, Diploma Level 2 & 3

The new youth work qualifications have been available for delivery since January 2011. Increased costs of delivery and organisational changes have resulted in a ‘delivery’ gap for these courses.  We are working with University Collage Birmingham and Birmingham Youth Service to identify if there is a need for these qualifications to be delivered in Birmingham.

We seek your cooperation in supporting us to map the training requirements of your organisation; with a view to developing quality youth support training that meets the needs of the current workforce

The qualifications are designed to provide opportunities for all youth support workers including full and part-time, paid or voluntary, permanent or temporary, to gain recognition for the underpinning knowledge relevant to the National Occupational Standards in Youth Work; and the development of their understanding of the purpose of youth work and practical skills in how to communicate and work with young people more effectively.
